Advanced subjunctive
Indefinite antecedents, emotional reactions, evaluation, wishes, and independent frames.
At C1, mood choice manages reference and stance rather than following a trigger list
The subjunctive appears when an antecedent is indefinite, desired, denied, or not yet identified; when the speaker reacts emotionally; when an evaluation backgrounds rather than asserts a proposition; and in conventional wishes. The indicative identifies an actual referent or asserts content.
Relative clauses with indefinite antecedents

The mood does not claim that the person or solution exists. Once identified, switch naturally to indicative: Ja he trobat una traductora que parla islandès.
Emotional reaction and evaluation

The event may be entirely real. Subjunctive here does not mean “untrue”; it signals that the clause is the backgrounded object of a reaction.
Wishes: tant de bo and espero que
Use tant de bo + subjunctive for a strong hope or “if only”: Tant de bo arribi a temps; tant de bo ho haguéssim sabut. Use espero que + subjunctive for an ordinary personal hope. Spanish-shaped ojalá is not the neutral standard Catalan choice.
Subjunctive without que
Set expressions can stand independently: Visca Catalunya! Que tinguis sort! Sigui com sigui, passi el que passi, costi el que costi. These frozen or semi-productive frames present desired or noncommittal possibilities.

Ens sorprèn que hagin pres la decisió tan de pressa.

Tant de bo demà faci sol.
Hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow.
Tant de bo no haguéssim perdut aquella oportunitat.
If only we had not missed that opportunity.
Sigui com sigui, haurem de negociar.
Be that as it may, we will have to negotiate.
Passi el que passi, no et deixaré sol.
Whatever happens, I will not leave you alone.
