Verbs like m’agrada
Dative experiencers, agreement, and verbs such as interessar, semblar, quedar, and faltar.
The liked thing is the grammatical subject
In M’agrada el barri, “the neighbourhood” is what produces the pleasing effect; m’ marks the experiencer “to me”. The verb therefore agrees with the liked thing: singular agrada, plural agraden.
Dative experiencer forms
| Experiencer | Clitic | With agradar |

| to you | et / t’ | T’agrada. |
| to him/her/you formal | li | Li agrada. |

Add a stressed phrase for contrast or clarity: A mi m’agrada; a la Júlia no li agrada. The clitic normally remains; *a mi agrada* is not the standard pattern.
Agreement and the infinitive
One noun or an infinitive takes singular: M’agrada la música; m’agrada caminar. A plural noun takes plural: M’agraden els concerts petits. A coordinated idea is often singular when understood as one activity: M’agrada cuinar i convidar amics.
